What happens when you send a request
- You describe the job in the form on any page — what the drain, pipe, or water heater is doing, your ZIP code, and how to reach you.
- The request goes to one company. A single independent plumbing company that serves your ZIP code and handles that kind of work receives it. The company is named to you when you submit. It is not a blast to a list.
- They call you directly with a no-obligation quote. You deal with the plumbing company from that point on; this site is not in the middle of the job, the invoice, or the warranty.
- You are free to say no. There is no charge to you at any point and no obligation to hire. Get another quote from the local companies list if you want one.
How this site is paid. The plumbing company pays for the introduction. You do not. That is the standard model for a referral service and it is disclosed here so there is no mystery about who funds the research on this site.
Your information. Your name, phone number, and job description are shared only with the one company needed to handle your request — never sold, never shared for marketing. If a request later needs to go to a different company, you are asked first, naming that company, before they contact you. Full details are in the privacy policy.
What companies are asked before they receive requests
Companies that receive requests from this site report holding an active California CSLB C-36 Plumbing Contractor license and carrying insurance. That is what they report; it is not a guarantee, and this site says so everywhere the subject comes up — because the honest position is that the license lookup is public, free, and takes you a minute, and no referral site's word should substitute for it. What a C-36 license actually is
Plumbing work in California is licensed by the Contractors State License Board under the C-36 Plumbing Contractor classification, which covers water supply, drain and waste piping, gas piping, water heaters, and the maintenance of those systems. CSLB is a statewide agency — there is no separate Visalia or Tulare County plumbing license — and its records are public. A C-36 license tells you three things: the company passed a trade exam and a law-and-business exam, it has a contractor bond on file that you can claim against, and it is subject to CSLB discipline if it does bad work. It does not tell you the company is good; it tells you the company is accountable.
The $1,000 line. Since January 1, 2025, California allows unlicensed work only when the whole job (labor and materials) is $1,000 or less, no building permit is required, and the person doing it employs nobody else on the job. If any one of those fails, a licensed contractor is required regardless of price. In plumbing terms: clearing a clogged drain or replacing a faucet can legally be done by an unlicensed handyman. Replacing a water heater (the City of Visalia requires a plumbing permit and a final inspection for that), repairing a sewer lateral, repiping, or any repair over $1,000 is C-36 work. Several Visalia-area websites still quote the old $500 threshold; it changed on January 1, 2025.
Verify any plumber's license in under a minute
Do this for any company you are about to hire — including one this site introduces you to.
- Open CSLB's "Check a License" at cslb.ca.gov. Search by business name, license number, or personnel name.
- Match the business name on the record to the name on the truck, the estimate, and the website. A mismatch is a question to ask.
- Status: Active. Expired, suspended, or inactive means the company cannot legally contract for the work.
- Classification: C-36. A company licensed only as a B general contractor, or in another trade, is not licensed for plumbing.
- Bond on file, workers' comp on file. The record shows both. A company with employees and a workers' comp exemption is a question to ask before anyone climbs into your attic.
- The number on the estimate. California requires the license number on contracts and advertising. If it is missing from the written estimate, ask.
What this site is not
- Not a plumbing contractor, and not licensed as one. No one from this site performs, quotes, or supervises work.
- Not a Google Business Profile or map listing. This site has no shop and no trucks, and does not pretend to.
- Not a review site. There are no star ratings or review counts anywhere on it, because there is no honest way to publish ones this site has not collected.
- Not a guarantor. The company that does the work is responsible for the work; its license bond and its warranty are your recourse, not this site.

Requests are routed by ZIP code to a company that serves it. Coverage is Visalia, Tulare, Hanford, Exeter, and Porterville. Visalia is the Tulare County seat. Tulare, Exeter, and Porterville are also in Tulare County; Hanford is the seat of neighboring Kings County. If your ZIP code is outside that area, the request is not sent on — you will hear that from this site rather than from a company that cannot reach you.
